The R/GA offices work as one entity globally through the R/GA OS, a suite of tools that allows for easy collaboration across. While that system helps with day-to-day operations, it also retains historical collaboration data.
A team at R/GA Singapore managed to get their hands on the collaboration data for the Asia-Pacific offices ranging from January 2017 to October 2019. The data was then assessed, cleaned and prepared so that it could be used to power a generative design exercise which we called “Collaborative Conversations”.
Sine waves were used as the basic geometry in TouchDesigner as they represent the pulse of the collaboration, with the colors defining the disciplines involved and the origin/destination of the waves pointing to each R/GA office across Asia-Pacific.
It was fun to bring it to life and a great way to show how R/GA teams think when it comes to craft.
