R/GA global purpose is to Make a More Human Future. The future of humanity is what drives us as a group of thinkers and makers. So, we created and built a service that would make a difference to the future of humanity in Singapore.
I Go For You (IG4U) is an offer to help, Singapore style. It’s a phrase that every Singaporean has used at some point in their lives, suggesting taking an initiative or going out of one’s way to do someone a favour.
As a service, IG4U links seniors who need groceries or a meal, with people around the neighbourhood who are willing and able to help pick it up for them, with just one phone call.
This system enables every senior to participate in our digital economy. This service was available in Mandarin.
Technically, it relied on a very lean stack with Twilio for the IVR system (for senior citizens) and Telegram to answer requests to help (for volunteers). The data was stored in a Google spreadsheet (through Google APIs) before being moved to Firebase as the usage was scaling. The website promoting the service was designed on Squarespace.
The team building this initiative was based in Singapore and in Indonesia.
