R/GA - Expansion to Indonesia (2019-2021)

Working with R/GA APAC MD, I led the strategy, hiring and management of R/GA's newest office in Indonesia for its first 2 years.

April 2019

First conversations in APAC and globally about setting up a new office in APAC.

June/December 2019

Working with Glints as a recruitment and business partner to set up office space and hiring a team of 14 people on the ground (Batam first then everywhere in Indonesia as R/GA went into WFA mode during and post-pandemic).

January 2020

Official opening of R/GA Indonesia

After that

Growth of the team (~20 engineers until my departure from R/GA) - Planning for new disciplines to join the team.

Hiring a GM to run the office and preparation of a backup tech leadership as I was preparing for my departure from R/GA.

Internal/external materials about R/GA Indonesia, its capabilities and the work.

Training the team on work from Singapore, Japan and Australia first before exposing them to work from other markets (US, South America, Europe).
